Spent a month teaching english in deprived areas of Northern India, from Delhi, Karnal and Gajnoi (a tiny 6 shack village within the himalayas!)

I took over 3000 images and wrote a 20,000 word account. It was one of my greatest experiences in my life (so far, I'm only 18! well, 17 at the time of the trip). Thanks for taking the time to look at these, sorry if there not big enough.

In Gajnoi:

A lone child in one of the many slums in Delhi:

i love how the children were just playing in the street like any other:

The other guy i went with (there were three of us) dont think ii need to say where this was:

These women were just resting outside the taj mahl (behind me):

At a temple near the Taj Mahal, loved how he had the umbrella in the bright sun:

This guy was just sitting there drawing, loved it:

In delhi, these guys live on the roads they are working on- snapped this as i was driving past (sorry i know its small) :

This guy was sitting in a marble mezzanine at one of the largest temples in Old Delhi, can hold 20,000 people!!

Way out in a place called Pathankot- waiting to get our 16 hr train to Delhi, it had been delayed by 4 hours :(

A tiny Tibetan village (no pun intended) in the himalayas:

Up in the mountains a woman was drying some cloths- just though it was a really natural shot:

And of course- The Taj Mahal, not sure how i managed to get that bird in the shot, but i like it:

A great collection of shots - we just got back from 2 months in India, so your photos tugged our heart strings!

    Great work.

    Great photos.

How did you hear about the program to teach there? I am considering something similar in the southern tip of India.

Well the guy pictured (my friend who was with me) well his grandad is chairman of Arpana UK, and we were the first to do this for the charity, unfortunatley they are really only based in North India. I'm sure there are tons of programs though...
