Went to the wedding as a guest...

I went to this wedding as a guest, only to learn within five minutes that they wanted me to be the photographer. Lucky for them, (a) the bride is a very good friend of mine and (b) I brought a small camera bag (one body, 2 lenses, 2 lights). So much fun and it was great to see a good friend (my wife's college roommate) marry.

Incredibly down to earth wedding ... a football game with the bride and groom in between the ceremony and reception! They had a tangible desire to spend every last minute with their guests - I love that!

So much more on my site!

Really not sure Ted. It was a good game of flag football in the rain. The photo here is of the bride's father seconds after catching an interception and seconds before scoring a touchdown. It was raining lightly, and starting to rain more so I decided to move on and photograph other things - sheltered things.

Of course, it was about five minutes later that a friend ran up to me and asked if I got a picture of "it". Not knowing what she meant, I asked for clarification. She told me the grooms brother was trying to grab a flag of someone on the other team, missed, and grabbed the back pocket on the players pants. Completely tore the pants off the person. Had I been the paid photographer I wold have felt bad...

How is it that all of your brides have "non-traditional" dresses?? Guess it just comes with wanting the small ceremonies.

Great shots!! Lucky for her you brought your camera! I have to leave mine at home sometimes so I don't get suckered into camera duty when there's other things I'd rather do.

    Thanks!

Not sure how I get lucky enough to have all the non-traditional dresses. But it does seem to me that generally we are moving away from traditional dresses. The good thing is that really enjoy taking photographs, so I didn't really mind too much and I didn't work too hard. Plus there was a keg of tasty beer there, so it's always fun to drink and shoot without worrying about it :)

Jeremy that SNL commercial is way too funny! We cut our satellite this year so I've missed out on some great TV....
