Great Falls under Starlight

Ok so... I wanted to get this shot with a falling meteor, but unfortunately there were barely any in the sky. I probably saw 5 total in the 2 hours I was out shooting...

But I did get this shot with some pretty cool starlight... despite the light pollution from the city

ANNDDD stupid me... I didn't realize my 5d Mark II was set to sRaw2 (:cry) so this landscape is not as detailed as I would have liked... what a blower.

anyways, i would like some feedback as i'm relatively new to night photography.

thanks!

nazquel, I think it's a pretty cool image. Lovely starlit sky.

I wonder if you can recover some highlights in the light polluted
portion of the image in your raw processor.

    Anyways, I really like it.

Hi Navin, nice color you have there! I've found sRAW2 to be OK if you need to conserve space in regular lighting but yeah, probably less good for long night exposures. lol3.gif Still, I don't think I've ever seen night shots from Great Falls and there's a lot of potential. Light pollution isn't necessarily a bad thing if you get the right amount of it and use it to your advantage. I think this spot is worth revisiting!

Great shot. How did you get access to GFNP at night?
