Spam code for guest Comment

Hi,

Would like to avoid / omit having to enter the "spam code" for guest comments. I'm doing a trial site to see if it will work for collaborating with another person where we will "Caption" the photos. If the other person has to enter spam text for each comment, that will be too slow. When I tried it, it was hit or miss, sometimes taking 2-3 tries to type it correctly.

If not possible to turn off or delete the spam code... then could the other person edit the caption and if so, will I receive notification for each? If they are required to have a smugmug acc't to edit captions, do they need to pay $$ for a site... that they don't need? If that doesn't work, maybe I could make them an "Assistant"... not sure what that means... would rather just omit the spam code.

Ideas? Thanks, Tom

Sure, make them an assistant - here's how: http://www.smugmug.com/help/assistant-password
    It's a pro feature.

Would rather omit the spam box and avoid extra $$ for Pro account. Is that possible. I'm evaluating other services (3-4 others) and no-one else has the spam box.

Second best, can another person edit the captions as friends or family, but I assume they need to have an account. Does that mean they need to pay for a standard acc't (that they won't be using)?

Third best, you recommended making them an assistant (more cost for me for Pro acc't... which I don't want to spend). If that is the only way to do it, then... when they edit a caption, will I receive notification?

We'll be making some changes in the future (don't know exactly when) that will make this captcha unnecessary.

Your idea of friends/family would require them to be logged in, I'm sorry :(

Assistants editing a caption would not fire a notice to you, no.

I wish I had better answers for your right now!

Have them sign up for a trail account, that will give you maybe two weeks
that they could do a friends edit.

OK, sorry, can't afford the "Pro" acc't and I would need notification if they changed the Caption.

The spam box for Comments is absolutely not going to work either and as I said, I don't see why it's even there (I don't see it in 3-4 other services).

Thanks for responding, I'll bail out of the Trial and look elsewhere. All set.

    Thanks, Tom

It's there to protect against bots... but we're going to improve the feature with something better, and easier, in the future. I'm sorry the timing's not right for you!

Hi Andy, I have almost the same problem.
Having the PRO account, in the trial period for now, but I need that my registered guests may input comments in a easy way, and the verification code is a very bad thing. Also the verification doesn't make sense for registered guests, I think.
If there's any way I can avoid this for the registered guests, please tell me.
    Thanks.
