Me too - do you think we're spending too much time on the computer?:D
No, too much time on the computer is when you dream - literally - of editing pictures. My alarm clock woke me up the other morning from a very intense - and productive - editing session of my last wedding. Weird thing was, I was editing pictures that I've never seen before...

I haven't read all the posts. But why would you take 200 photos of a family? Take 200 photos of yourself and try to pick the best 1. The task is daunting. Why not spend the time posing the family and correcting the light to get the best photo?
Under eye bags can ne lessened by lowering the light.

My family sessions include about an hour's worth of shooting, outdoors, and includes the standard group shot and many individual shots, both posed and candids. By the time we've messed around for an hour, in a gorgeous location, trying different backgrounds, shooting various combinations of four people, yeah, it's easy to have 200 shots or more to choose from.
Yes, 200 shots of the posed family staring at the camera would be ludicrous.
The woman with the circles under her eyes had an anatomical issue, it wasn't as much a matter of the lighting, but I hear what you're saying.
I would never talk to my clients about any such things unless it was very obvious and they were concerned about a blemish or something of that nature.
I would simply do the touch up work and never mention a word.....
I heard from the family, and they love the photos.
Thanks for all the responses, I learned a lot.
My question was more along the lines of ethics - what do you change and when, without giving a person the message, "you are not okay the way you are" - than about lighting and touching up - I'm sorry I didn't phrase it better.

My wife would think you're on to something, Sara.
Natural selection is responsible for every living thing that exists.
D3s, D500, D5300, and way more glass than the wife knows about.

And btw, I have not heard from my family yet, but do see they have sent the link on down to family in Brazil.
I'm sure they hate the photos (I go through this - needlessly, of course - every time).

Turns out, the woman likes herself as she is.
