While I don't know anything about NPN, it is a business charging clients for their services, yet they are asking for someone to MARKET their product for free.

Please if you have time on your hands I also could use some marketing.

Well, Jim's post never said "for free", but that there "are many benefits with this position...we'll make it worth your while". You can interpret that as working for free. But, as I have not had the chance to talk withe Jim directly, I have no idea what the true compensation is. Also, maybe someone, not unlike a lot of DGRriners here, wouldn't mind doing something like this. After all, a lot of have or are volunteering time already to help SmugMug (which then helps sell their services).
