Stock Ghyll Lower Falls - which comp best?

i put the macro gear away for the day ,and went up to cumbria ,the english lake district

these are the lower falls at stock ghyll , Which composition do you think is best? i like #4 best

I like #2 & #4 the best. #1 is a bit harsh with the white water in the bottom of the shot, but they are all nice. A perfect location and nice capture.

These are excellent. I don't ever think I've seen shots as good as these from across the pond before. You need to get out there more often.

Which crop is a hard call. The pullbacks are nice. But so are the closer in ones.

I like #2 & #4. You've taken out the sky completely which is good, as it only destracts. My only issue with number four is in the lower left....the green half circle shape looks man made or unatural, its probably just a dark round rock surrounded by the green???. Its a great area and you've got some excellent shots.

#2. There is a nice line from upper left to lower right that goes through all the "essential elements" of the frame - drawing my eye right through... The other are lacking this "motion" to me.

#1, it gets me closer, drawing my eyes through the trees up to the top of the waterfall.

I prefer #1, gives a good sense of space. IMO (and my opinion is not worth the words typed ), 2,3, and 4 have too much dead space in the foreground water. Plus, the foliage is beautiful and #1 shows this off as well as the waterfall. To me, my eye is drawn through the shot by the river up to the fall colors.

#2 & #4. I think, as presented, #2 gets my nod, because #4 seems a bit canted to port.

The water in the foreground in #1 just looks fuzzy, not nice at all IMHO.

Well, looks like we eliminated #3 for you, but that's all the help you're gonna get

Nice shots--you certainly should shoot a few landscapes now and then! I like #4 the best. There isn't a big difference, to me, between the last 3, but I think #4 has just a bit of an S curve through the water and I find that it takes me nicely through the shot.

i have another set of portrait format images of these falls to post soon , also the upper falls


and i didnt see a single bug up there
