How do you store your gear at home/work ?

Hi,

I was wondering how everyone stores his or her camera equipment
at home/work. Do you just leave it sitting in your backpack or shoulder bag
when you return from a shoot?

Reason why I am asking is, that right now I have all my stuff spread across
different bags because none of them is large enough to hold all or most of
my gear at once.

I've been eyeballing at a lowepro 650 magnum aw and a lowepro x200 roller
for storage because they could also be used on shoots when needed.

    - Current gear+accessories in the shoulder bag ready to go (which means 7d+lenses+1 flash+cards+batteries)
    - "Extra" gear (2nd flash, ste2, small lighting modifiers) in the small wheelie suitcase that seems to have become my "take everything with me" camera bag.
    - Backup body (xsi) in a small zoom bag that I also use if I'm travelling light and only want to carry camera+lens with me.
    - Lightstands and bgs stored in a corner of the music room.
    - Umbrellas and bigger lighting modifiers in a plastic crate wherever I can find room for it!
    - Leftover bits and pieces in an old camera bag that I no longer use for cameras and/or baskets on the shelf in the music room (which occasionally doubles as my studio).

Normally I am the messiest person you'll meet, my desk looks like the IRA attacked officemax.

Ok, that's officially hilarious rolleyes1.gif It's also exactly what my "desk" (currently my dining room table!) looks like most of the time! My beautiful attic office has been colonized by my (hardworking) hubby so I wind up on the laptop 99% of the time. We're negotiating on creating a second office in another part of the house so I can have my OWN SPACE TO WORK ~pleading look~ but for the time being.... chaos on the dining room table.
