.... and boy did he get LOW !!!
The display of this 747 crew was awesome.....

Unfortunately yhe weather let us down (UK, of course, I know).... and it got pretty grey.

I loved the contrast between the 747 and the old plane (a Moth?)..... but I guess some CS2 wizzard could do something more with this picture .... I am not a wizzard of any kind yet :dunno

Any suggestions appreciated !!! :):

Great shot, Francois. thumb.gif The first thing that occurred to me is that this is a pretty good candidate to experiment with the Lab color correction technique that Rutt has discussed in this thread. So I decided to try it out. Here's the result:

I skipped the sharpening step as your version seemed sharp enough. I gave it slightly more yellow to bring out the grass a bit. Looking at it now, I think I went too far with the yellow. I also cloned out the wing tips on the lower right, which seemed to add little.

I'm not sure that all this really made that much of a difference. What do you think?

    Cheers,

That's great Richard. I didn't think of taking the wing and that other little plane out.. that is good ! (I already 'cropped' it from the original, where there was more grass in the foreground and more of the wing to the right).

Already sharpened it too, a bit.... but the lighter tones are good.

I was thinking of trying to replace the sky with a much darker one, so the 747 would be more emphasized.... But I am having trouble making a good mask... still learning :cry

Thank you for your help !!!

Yeah that's nice Dave... I was trying something like that. But I must get to grips with the 'selection tool' I think. I could not get the 747 'freestanding' without ugly edges. Tried the Magnetic Lasso and the maggic wand, neither of them gave me the desired result.

Is it a matter of more patience and fiddling with them longer !? ne_nau.gif

    Thanks for the help !

    Hi!

I learned some masking tricks here:

    http://www.russellbrown.com/tips_tech.html

Check out the last tutorial (Advanced Masking).

Oh, and I prefer the grey sky. It gives a better UK mood...

    Good 747 shot
Really like the old and new in the photo
How about taking out some of the sky between the planes ...make them look closer ne_nau.gif

    Thanks

    Hi Fred,
yes, I thought about it too..... for now I left it like this because originally I used the photo for a poster, where I put text in between the two aircraft.. that worked quite nicely.
I'll experiment some more with it next week.... (still doing my CS2 'classes' :): ).

    Thanks for your suggestion!
    Kind regards,
    Francois
