Does anyone know where I can get a list of all the lenses manufactured by Nikon that will work on Nikon DSLR's? I keep reading posts mentioning glass that is no longer manufactured but still seems to be sought after by photogs in the know. This way I can start making my Christmas list!!!!!:ivar:clap:barb

Thanks,
Jimmie D.

Ziggy, That gives me current production, but what about glass no longer in production. Believe me, I have that website bookmarked at work and at home. I look at least once a month to see if anything new has popped up.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

For a Nikon D90 I believe that most Nikon "F" mount lenses with will safely fit. Most of the Nikon brand lenses that I would consider are at:

This is *THE* link that any Nikon enthusiast should have bookmarked at all times. I've followed this website for years and yes, they have EVERY lens ever made. At least for the F-mount, as far as I know. Exotics such as the 300 f/2.0, the 8mm f/8 fisheye, and the 13mm f/5.6, among many other legends.

Thanks guys. The links and the book are just what I was looking for. I hope before too long I can pickup an old film camera and upgrade on my dslr. The above references will give me a lot of information to study over before I buy.

    Thanks again,

The other thing to study is Ken Rockwell's page on Nikon lens/camera compatibility:

    http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/compatibility-lens.htm

This will answer your original question of what lenses will work on your DSLR.

The short answer is that your D90 can mount just about any Nikkor F-mount lens made from 1977 on (AI, AI-S, and autofocus lenses), and can mount older ones (non-AI lenses) only if they have been modified for compatibility with newer cameras. However, the D90's light meter won't work with non-electronic lenses, which basically means all manual focus lenses. So in practical terms the D90 is best used with autofocus lenses.

There's a nice application for iPhone users from Nikon with all the lenses on the today's market for SLRs cameras.
Other than that just the Nikon's website showing I believe the current lenses.
