The first shot does feel a tad over processed for my own personal tastes. The second one is super. There are a couple possible fine-tuning crop adjustment that could be considered, but no escaping it's a sweet shot with sweet light.
Yep agree with Gary, the first looks a bit over done particularly the halo around the car and the nuclear looking sky. The second however is spot on for me. Great way to get around!
Thanks, guys! The Jeep is my favorite, albeit one of my more expensive camera accessories.
I took these shots these shots on Sunday evening after it had stormed all weekend. The rain stopped, and so I headed out to a ridge with a nice view to watch the sunset, and was suitably rewarded. All three shots were taken with the Jeep in the same place, just moving my position.
So, the second is the favorite one it sounds like. The first one is an HDR comprised of 5 shots spanning from -4EC to +4EC, blended in Photomatix and finished in Photoshop. The second one is just a regular old picture. Where's the artistry in that? :giggle
Here's one more. This one has a pretty bad halo over the roof rack, but I like it otherwise.
Thanks very much, folks. A Jeep is a wonderful thing to have in rural Arizona. The "Arizona pinstripes" just kind of come with the territory. Pretty soon there won't be any paint on the car at all and then I won't have to worry about it.
Wow, I can tell you're having fun with those. Of the last two; For me, the second one looks a bit too overcooked, but the first really has it going on. A very super minor note on the top image, if those are houses on the middle left edge, and you go back to the location, see if you can find a way to keep those out of the frame, or hide them behind the jeep. Cheers,

Thanks for the comments, Gary. I was especially interested on which one folks like better, so I got my answer. Yes, those are houses in the first shot. I'll keep that in mind for next time.
Joel, I like the second shot on the first set and the first shot ond the second set. I agree on the houses but that stems back to my preference to be in the sticks.
I do appreciate your desert pin striping. I have a 4Runner with a full load of it.

Nice to see some scratches on the Jeep too.

Thanks, Phil! It's a pretty cool little spot I discovered. I may well shoot some more landscapes in the future there, sans Jeep.
Oh, and neither of those shots are HDRs. Just straight ACR/Photoshop.
