Kayak Fishing in Arabia

At the Eastern end of the Arabian peninsula a spike of land juts north forming the southern part of the gateway into the Arabian (Persian) Gulf.
A dry, cracked land of high ridges riven by deep fjords that plunge deep below the ocean surface.

It was here, in the Musandam, that a group of us spent a weekend camping and fishing from our kayaks.

The water, being a deep inlet, was smooth and glassy and our kayaks sliced through it silently and swiftly. We paddled northwards most of the morning dragging lures behind us.

That evening, pulled up on a rocky beach, we fished a bit more than lit a campfire to grill the freshly caught fish. I even paddled out in the night to see the phosphorescence in the water and later slept under a blanket of stars.

Sorry if the pictures are a bit big, I'm still getting the hand of sizing things for the web.
