You'll have to take another look when you've had some shut-eye to confirm or debunk this hypothesis.
I think your comparing pixel dimensions with file size. Remember the jpg format compresses the image. When you open it you expand it.
Sam
If i had give n 17mb I would not have questioned it........
my properties says 1.71MB.....just rechecked....I think I am losing it......what shos in the images size menu is pixel dimensions of say 20.xx M........that is not actually the file size but the total number of pixels (RGB) with the dimension of the image of 3000pixels by 2000pixels....if I understand what i read on a couple of forums I found by googling pixel dimensions........I had just compared the 2 (properties file size to pixel dimensions)
PS tells you what the image BITMAP size is (as in matrix of pixels, each pixel being 8-bit, or 16-bit, or 32-bit, depending on the mode you're at).
OS tells you what the filesize is, after all the compression (lossless or lossfull) tricks have been applied.
