EZPrints with color correction on we add sharpening.

Bay Photo with color correction on, adds no sharpening.

I sharpen all my photos personally, it's part of my workflow. If you have questions as to how, or how much, ask in our Finishing School forum here on Dgrin, an awesome resource!

Today I received my first large order from EZPrints which looks oversharpened. Like Andy, I always apply a touch of sharpening in my workflow, but I've never had this issue in the past. I did use the color correction setting.

Perhaps I need to switch over to Bay, but I've never had this issue prior to this order.

    Hi Mitchell,

Yes, EZ Prints' auto correction does add moderate sharpening. Options are to order through EZ Prints without auto correction, or go with Bay Photo with or without color correction.

You're of course covered by the SmugMug guarantee. http://www.smugmug.com/prints/our-guarantee.mg

Give us a shout on the help desk with the order number and we'll take a look at the order and talk about what works best for you.

Mitch, you should be printing at Bay, with hand color correction. NOTE: this does NOT include sharpening so have your images already sharpened. Bay will only adjust color as needed (it's by hand, by trained pros).

Thanks, Andy. I'm going to reprint this entire order at Bay. This should give me a good comparison to settle the issue in my own mind.

I do my own sharpening as part of my workflow (as you do). This has been my first order with EZPrints (after more than 5 years) where I was not completely satisfied. I just can't put my finger on the problem. The sharpening on many of the prints is obvious, but the coloring seems off on others.

    Hi Mitchell,

Very sorry about the order, I would be very interested in looking into this as our parameters have not changed with sharpening. I would be interested in reprinting (free of course) to make sure there was not some other kind of mistake.

    Thanks
