Ruby Beach B/W

I took these the last week of October at Ruby Beach OR. I would have loved to cross the creek to the right side of the image (very hard to see) but this was the day after a week + of heavy rains and that little creek was moving too fast and deep for my comfort level. Having said that a couple of guys did struggle across and came out with some great images. Hopefully I'll get there next time.....

I was standing about 50' to the left of the creek in the surf on image #2.

All CC if very welcome.

Nice set. I really like what you captures in #1. The bright reflection by the small rock is a little distracting. I wonder if darkening that area a little might add to the image.

    Aaahhh Ruby Beach
Doug, I absolutely love that beach. I would like to visit in the summer but, I cannot seem to fit it in my schedule. I will be there in Mid-Jan 2011. Nice Shots also.

Thanks hawkeye, good idea about darkening that area.

Thanks Mike, it was my first visit and you're right it is a great beach, I only wish I could have made it across the creek.

Wow, those are some pretty dramatic scenes, Doug. :wow

I like the way the lines in the water in #2 lead you right into the shot.

    Cheers,

i agree, very dramatic shots. Ruby Beach is one of my favorite spots on the coast... though after that storm wiped out the berm and the lagoon, it's not so easy to get to the north side of the stream to get the good shots with Abbey Island. i think i may need to invest in a pair of hip waders for my next visit out there... :(

You're exactly right Rocky, I ran into the high and rather swift water in October, it was enough to keep me from making the crossing but I have to say a couple of the guys did struggle across. I figure there is always a next time.
