The tower serves all of Nassau for water. I was fortunate at the time to get it with the sun directly behind it.

I love teh B&W on this shot. The sun being behind it really gives it a cool effect. Did you have to do two exposeures? One for the tower and one for everything else to get the tower well exposed with the sun being behind it?

    Thank you,

I exposure locked on the clouds to the left of the tower and then focused on the tower. I used the Shadow and Highlite tool in PS to help lighten the shadows.

With only 17 views me thinks this was lost because of weird, invisible, alien cloak technology.eek7.gif

This is actually considered a landmark in Nassau. If you've been to Nassau you'd understand the lowered expectations. Everything is very old and crumbling.

khaos, i dig it, nice light, and bw conversion - but i'm missing the "foot" of the tower, it would give the whole photo an "anchor."

    Thanks Andy.
You're right. From where I took it, the top of Fort Fincastle, the fort itself juts out and was in and partialy blocking the bottom. I was on a quick moving tour so I unfortunately couldn't take many shots and try to get a different angle.

    Maybe next time.ne_nau.gifNo tours, that's for sure.:D

Thanks for the comment, I value the input.

15524779-Ti.gif This is the first thing that jumped out at me. What channel mixer settings did you use in your B&W conversion?

I don't have a set method. I open it up and play to get what looks good. Yep, I'm one of those guys. It's generally, monochrome, blue to the left, green to the right, the distance depends on the photo and sometimes a slight red adjustment and possibly afterwards an adjustment with black in curves.

Whatever works! Looks great on this shot.
