Wow! All great shots. I like #9 and #10 best. What is the bird in #9 with the cormorant? Best, Pam

Thanks Pam. That would be a Wood Stork battling with the cormorant for the prime roost. rolleyes1.gif

Here's another one for you Pam. The same spot with a pair of wood storks . I kind of like these birds. They always seem to make for a nice photo. Not the pretty faced bird most enjoy, but I find them interesting.

Geez...I AM getting old! I've looked at this post and noticed it on the board many times...and assumed (I guess) that I had commented on it. headscratch.gifrolleyes

Anywho....I always enjoy looking at your work whether I remember to actually comment on it or not, Mike. :D

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thanks for sharing these. I can almost feel the (relative) warmth of the air. Wonderful shot of the wood stork (#10) and the photo of the pair later in the thread. Were these taken in Ding Darling?

They are really dramatic birds, it seems to me. I even like the turkey vultures, though my family has suggested I might want to spend a little less time on them. Those and the anhingas, which seem to be everywhere I turn. Happy New Year! Best, Pam

Thank you for commenting. No these were not taken at Ding Darling. I've shot there and enjoy it , but it's a long haul down there. I usually shoot from my boat locally on the intracoastal waterways between Venice and Sarasota Florida. Most of these images were taken at rookeries on the water. Some images were taken elsewhere.

A bird in light with camera in hand is a good day. I like to photograph THEM ALL. Happy New year Pam and thanks for looking.
