Hey guys, I am always lurking this website and very rarely post things on Wedding forums. If anyone's interested, a little about me: I have been a P&S guy forever. Never really looked into the technical part of photography. Until in July, I decided to buy my first DSLR and wanted to mostly practice taking pictures of my wife and floral arrangements. I work for a florist and eventually plan to open my own and wanted to practice taking pictures of arrangements for websites and advertising. But, soon it became more than just that. I began to pursuit it more seriously. Something I really enjoy doing. I am taking this work more seriously and learning more and more each day from reading and watching videos. I really want to get into wedding photography and I know it takes a lot to be a good wedding photographer and I will continue to practice as much as possible until I am confident of myself to go out there. I eventually want to have a florist associated with a photo studio side by side. I think they will compliment very well with each other.

OK, so sorry if you had to read all that! But ok, here are a few photos I have done from a recent photo shoot with a model. It was lots of fun.

I appreciate the effort here but I am not really digging these. In general the paint is just too messy for my taste. The compositions and posing are not doing anything for me. The only pose that works for me is 5. I feel like you could have done some interesting close ups on the face with bolder and deliberate paint job with some more dramatic lighting for example.

WHAT FUN! I like 1 and 2, her hair in 2 is cool. I like the "pose' in 1. I think you could pop the colors a bit for more interest. Your excitement puts a smile on my face !! Florals and photos, yeah that works! My mom worked for a florist, she loved it.

I see a bunch of broken image red X's

Did you (the poster) feel different about having them posted? Or something else?

Ha ha...at first I was thinking just like Daniel was but then I looked at these again and maybe Trudy's enthusiasm rubbed off on me and while a bit messy on some I really like number 1, 2 and 5....
    Fun shoot!

First off - what is your lighting setup?
#1 The crop isn't working for me.
#3 Nice perspective. Is the focus on the green paint bottle? I would like one with the focus on her instead.
#5 Many people don't like the rabbit ear look (feet growing out of the head) with this pose. I think this would also help so you don't get her face so square to the camera
    #6 Nice boots. Nice mood.

My setup is 2 WL 1600 for the BG and and WL800 for the beauty dish.

I was playing w/ a new skin toning technique last night so I edited the first one. I like it better than original. I think with better editing, I can make some of these pop more like the one below.
