They're all a part of your study of the American family?

On second thought, I'm pretty sure I see some very obvious signs of having been shot with an Oly OM-1... yeah... I see it...

    Let me think:
    - They're all B&W
    - They share the same thread
    - The color white is prevalent in all of them (That was the first thing that jumped at me, even in #3...the reflection in the eye)
    - They all include at least one person
    - The photographer...level of brilliance up for debate (sorry, BD...couldn't resist)

When you asked this my initial reaction was that it documents "stages" in our lives. THen I saw the comments and now I think I'm way off :)

Blown highlights that don't bother my enjoyment of the captures one little bit.

Don't let my comments throw you. I was mostly just being a...uh..."intelligent donkey" for most of it. My only real guess was the color white.

I would just like to point out that I've looked at the last shot about 9 dozen times since it was first posted on DGrin and just now realized the women aren't actually sitting outside... :snore

Visually, nothing important, so I'm guessing they were all chosen for an exhibition or publication. ne_nau.gif

    And the winner is...
    AND THE WINNER IS....RAINBOW!!
They were all shot with film. Most if not all with Tri-X pushed a stop to 800 iso.
And only ONE person saw it - or took a flier and guessed it. rolleyes1.gif And one other person guessed that the one thing they have in common is that they are all shot digitally. rolleyes1.gif

So can we forget all this film/digital crap and just get back to the IMAGE - whatever it's shot with? :ivar:ivarbowdown.gif

Well, I saw it, but was unwilling to commit, but I knew that's what you were trying to prove. And you did so very well. thumb.gif

Bit late to the party, but I immediately thought film, especially with the sofa shot. It may be because I've also been shooting and scanning a lot of film recently.

I like the woman with the wedding dress (?) the best.
The man with the baby isn't clear enough for me though it might have been my favorite otherwise. I figured he was looking at a baby, but really had to squint until I could see the baby's hand. Part of it is the crib or whatever the baby is in is quite a bit different then the ones in China. I just really liked the lighting and shadows on his face on his face. I'm sure he and his family will treasure the memories the shot brings back for many years to come though.

Curious about the nursing home (?). Are they playing a game? Or just sitting at a table lost in thought?

They are at an Alzheimer's facility, so I assume they are lost far in their past.
