Snow & Ice in Snowdonia

went up in the mountains in wales yesterday, was -8 at road level!
just a bit cold:D

here are the first 2 images , #1 early in the day.

both 3 shot HDRs , photomatix used

loads more to follow, no bugs around to shoot at present :rofl

ice crystals and snowdon in background - ice crystall appear completly sharp in full size image, look a little soft in small size
this is a 3 frame focus stack also ,to increase dof

I'm so used to HDR meaning unreal color that seeing a nearly colorless landscape photo with nice detail in the bright and dark spots is refreshing (and I'm a fan of the unreal color version.)

Number 4 is awesome, not sure why specifically (I'm not quite as versed as many posters around here) but it just grabs me, I like the contrast of the dark peak in the background and the whispy flowing water down front.

Amazing scenery. Good use of HDR to bring out the contrast of the scenes. That's not easy to do when everything is frozen like this. 4 and 5 of the second set are my favs.
