Soccer team feedback
I wanted to give the team shot a bit more energy -
Strobist info:
- 9am November sun as back light
- two Nikon SB-900s in from sides about 20 degrees forward of subjects, flash zoom at 50mm, full power, no filter
- Nikon D300 pop-up flash as fill, about 1/2 power
- Nikon CLS trigger via pop-up flash
- 1/250s, F16, ISO200, raw all manual
- Lightroom processing
- I am happy with the results, but things to improve: poses (to get rid of shadows, but i like the informal poses that better capture their energy.)
Thanks, Vincent

The team shot has nice color in it. Outside of that, you have some girls looking away and no real uniformality. On the individual shot (girl holding soccer ball) that would have been a nice shot if there were no people in the background. I know how difficult that is to accomplish, because I shoot youth soccer as well. I did a team shot, and instead of a posed individual shot, I took action shots through the course of our season and cropped them to fit my template that I created in Photoshop. I put a link in here, if you would like to see the team photo and individual template.
By all means, I am not knocking your work, or am I a professional, these are some lessons that I have picked up from my past 3 yrs. of doing soccer photo's. I hope this helps you out.
