Removing Shadows on People's Faces

Working with a one light set up since my second one didn't fire. Is there a way to get rid of shadows that fall on a person's face or clothing?

Potentially Painful work! Examples?

maybe you can clone the shadow out, but like said it could be painful and tedious.

One way is to create a layer mask set to screen and paint away the shadow, tedious but it works great for lightening the shadow (as long as it's not black). Or if you can process another exposure +1 or +2 then mask that.

Usually, lessening the shadows to a level where it is not distracting, is a lot easier and more natural looking than trying to totally remove it.

Scott Kelby's CS5 book, page 251, which describes the screen/masking/painting method mentioned above.
