Tri-colored Heron under a overcast sky

Many people will not venture into the field for photographs if there is a heavy overcast sky. I on the other hand find that an overcast sky provides for interesting light and the bonus of having no heavy shadows to contend with.

    I agree with Dennis--I like both, and always love seeing fish for lunch, but that first one has such a dramatic flair! That bird has acting talent for sure! Best, Pam

    You are correct, Ira. White birds in particular.

    However, lack of ambient light usually requires boosting the brightness, saturation and contrast of an image in post processing.
