I saw this old john deere tractor at the back of the town museum building. Took some shots and did some pp to highlight the rustic decay. C&C would be very much appreciated. :wink

    Nice compositions
I love what you captured, but do think they are just a little over-saturated, and perhaps a tad too sharp.

The over-saturated colors and the sharpness was deliberate. I wanted to show the roughness of the way the rust eats its way into the core of the metal parts. That's the catch behind the title "angry rust". I can back off on the colors and the sharpness since I usually shoot in RAW. Thank you for the comment yendikeno.

Thanks Azzaro. :D Stubborn rust is actually gritty by nature. So, in order for me to "show" how gritty the rust is I decided to add some more sharpness to the image. As I have explained before, in order for me to show the aggressiveness of the rust I over-saturated the colors to make it look very active. If I have overdone it then back to photoshop for me. rolleyes1.gif

I'm with the other Rust Junkies on this issue. It's hard to over-saturate rust in our opinion.....the more saturation, the merrier. Your work here certainly qualifies you for inclusion to the group of us who feed on rust.

I like the treatment also, definitely brought out the rust, and detail... Bold Maybe? Effective, Definitely!

Okay... here's my two cents as a rust appreciator - but quite a bit shy of a junkie.

The saturation issue is tough since I didn't see the original real life colors. I accept your choice to ramp it up, but I can help wondering what the alternatives might look like. Is this really about saturation or hue? Don't really know, cause I wasn't there....

Which brings me (a recovering over-saturator, I might add) right back to what your stated intention was. And... I do believe it worked. Sure stirred up some conversation, huh? Kudos on intriguing and provocative images!

Thank you billseye for your comment. This post-processing of mine is just an experiment. I am still finding my style. I do hope that guys at the forum will still comment on my shots so I would know my strengths and weaknesses along the way. Thanks!
