#1 is really good!
I like #1, it is a more interesting composition.
There's a littlie too much sky on #2 IMO.

I like #2, personally. I do wish that either there was less sky or that the tree was more to the right of where it is now and a little more prominent.

#1 is nice, but there is something about the simplicity of #2 that I really like.

I agree with Karl that the simplicity of #2 is preferrable to #1. There is rather a lot of sky, pity the blue sky was not closer to the tree, as gives a bit of colour to the picture.

Yes, the reason I included the sky was for the bit of blue.

I really liked both of the first shots (and preferred #1)...but I love this snowflake. Very simple and stark.

snowflake beats out 1 and 2....but I like 1 better.....(says me, who is ALWAYS shooting a single tree in a field...)

1 & 2 work for me, I am leaning towards 2. Both have good elements. The visible snow in 1 make it feel colder.

I really like it.

Out of the original two, I prefer the tree. I bet there will be lots of trees, water, ice shots, but I bet you are the only one with a single solitary snowflake. I like the simplicity of it and the comp. Nice!
