Did you use a flash? How did you get so close? Did you have to crop the photos a lot? Is this in the sink or did you pour drops into a bowl?
Thank you for more information -- I've always wanted to try these shots too, and I don't have a dSLR either...
Yes Dee i did use a flash. The picture you see is what i took, never crop my picture (dont know how...lol), i use my digital zoom (about 1 feet from the subject) and finally , yes it's in the kitchen sink.
Hope i help you with dose answer. And a lot of patience.

I'll have to try it, looks like a lot of fun as long as I don't get my camera wet : : :

They look very, very nice to me. What type of digital camera was used?
I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.

Here's a few before the splash
Very nice shots. I think I'll try some like that when I get a spare moment.
I played with water a while back and came up with these. This is what they look like before the splash. Taken with Panasonic FZ20 with onboard flash. Yellow daffodil in reflection.
I have a Hp Photosmart 945. Its not a DSLR. Patience is the key...
