commercial sale problem

I have been contacted by an architect who would like to purchase 3 photos I took of a building he designed, for a brochure. This is my first commercial sale and I am at a loss as to what to charge. Too much and the sale walks away (I guess I could say so what, as I had no expectation of this sale when I took the photos) or too little and I under value my work.

Is it ok if I ask him what kind of budget he is working under?
