Basketball season is FINALLY underway here in SD. I was able to make it to one of the area girls' game last night. Here are some of my better shots:

I used my same set up . . . Canon 50D - 85mm f1.8 prime lens - no flash - ISO 1000 - Shutter Speed 400

Thanks for looking.

You've got some nice shots here. A few suggestions: first, number your photos - it helps when providing feedback.

Now, you've got some nice action but most of these shots are underexposed - the faces are too dark. I would strongly recommend switching to manual exposure rather than shutter priority - but in either case you need a brighter exposure.

shots 3 & 4 have a lot of unnecessary dead space in the top of the frame - a sharp contrast to your other shots. Otherwise you've caught some nice action in these and sharpness is pretty good. Fix your exposures and I think there will be a big improvement for very little extra effort.

Thanks - I am going to try to go all "Manual" for the next game to try to get a little brighter on my images.
