Poor Sophie. She's away in Ecuador so she can't stop me from playing mad-scientist with my PP experiments. Here's my latest. Interested in reactions to this. Good? Bad? What in the world were you thinking?

Asides from the textured frame it looks like a type of tonal contrast....

I like what you did....very cool!
    You're daughter is lovely btw.....

Thanks for the comments Rey. All of the heavy lifting was done in LR - basically bumping up Recovery, Fill Light, and Black and then selectively adding Clarity (hair).

I seem to be enamored with this type of processing (HDR-like) but seems like most others are not...

The pp may work well with edgier type subjects/compositions. It's not very flattering in this case imo.

I tend to favor the look as well but found that it can be a little much on older folks who are trying to look younger.
In the case of young people I think it look rather cool....

Not working for me. As was mentioned earlier...too edgy for a cute girl. Use it on a sports pose or similar? Nice effort though.

Point Taken - match the PP to the subject/mood. I think this one works a little better?

I think somewhere in the middle would be perfect, a little less fill light and clarity.
She is very pretty and looks like she is full of energy.

    I like the bottom one.
