Hey guys,

I am having a bizzare problem with accessing the site via my school.

The site works fine from my home and other remote locations however when I log in here, even to the www.smugmug.com I get a screen that looks like the image I have attached below. This occurs on all the computer I have tried, even an iPad.

I have called our IT and they have tried everything from reclassifying the site type in order to bypass our filter to using different browsers. yet the problem is persisting.

Any help in this would be appriciated as I was hoping to use Smugmug next semester during a class project for an environmental science class I am teaching, however this is not going to work...

Andrew

Assuming your school is using a web filtering application that is integrated with a firewall to block certain sites, etc.......even though this site is not being blocked, there could still be some configuration needed on their firewall. Have the IT department check the url filtering commands on their firewall. If they are using Cisco PIX/ASA and without getting too technical, it could relate to some TCP connection settings and timeout settings. I've seen this before when we switched to Websense for our web filtering and had to tweak some FW settings to get pages to display appropriately.

You might also verify if this occurs with other browsers (FF, etc). Even different versions of IE can produce strange results like this and usually resolved in the security settings.
