Only Samantha was home with me on the last night of hanukkah. At least she was will to be photographed.

I'm not sure which version I prefer.

I have so enjoyed this year's series!!! I love both versions of this one but there is something about the second that draws me in. A touch of the ethereal, I think.

Amazing! I like #1 best. The warmth in the photo ties in the candles.

I'm a big fan of the vintage desaturated look you have going in #2 but, in this case, I prefer the warmer version. Great reflection in the table BTW!

I really like 1, maybe brighten it just a smidge to bring the skin tone around.
Great concept and execution. Obviously she is a cutie.

What a cutie pie, this one is going to break alot of hearts. I really like the feeling/mood of #2. It just lends itself to the significance of the story. The lack of color with the hardships of the time. Great job. But I have to ask......was this taken in the garage??!! Just joking.

Hah! This was actually taken inside my home. Once a year I try shooting somewhere other than the garage. :D

Mitch, you not the only guy who shoots inside a garage. I know of at least two other professional photographers who shoot there and make well over a $100,000 per year.

I really like the warmth of the first one. I think maybe it just makes sense when looking at a photo of candles (for me at least) that the color be warm. The second one is good too, but it makes me think of some absurd time in the future when even a menorah uses the decidedly-less-romantic cool-white LEDs.

Is it wrong that I think of her as "our" Samantha?! She's such a part of the dgrin "family" that it's almost like we know her IRL iloveyou.gif

Beautiful, Mitchell. What is the light other than candles - ambient, flash ?

I like both of them, but despite the delicious warmth of the first, I think I like the desat on this occasion, especially with hanukkah colours so often being blue/silver thumb.gif

You captured such a beautiful expression on your daughters face- full of joy and wonder! Gorgeous in color.
