Saw this scene when we were leaving my kid's school a couple of hours ago. The light caught my attention and immediately took some shots. C&C would be most welcome.
Sitting quietly, doing nothing. Spring comes and the grass grows by itself.

Now to be a little Devil lol, can I throw an idea at ya, or lets call it another option... lol
I don't need the big box of light at top...I almost find it a Distraction to the great Mood and B+W ? What if you crop just below the Light itself on the Wall?? I think that really adds some Drama to the Image, and for me avoids the distraction of the Skylight at top.. I guess I don't need to know where the light is coming from, I leave that for the imagination... I also wonder about cloning out the partial Bench?? those two things make In my Opinion , another great option to an already great shot!
Either way this is a Strong Image and a Great B+W Subject, well seen well photographed!!
I just browser-cropped the light/box out and dang, this is a powerful picture cropped square lol. Nifty! Thanks for the new view NEM!

Thanks for the idea. I was also thinking about the square crop. Though I thought that the beam and light source could add some more drama to the image.

And this is a Bold Art type shot In My Opinion, so the source can be viewer discretion... I know its there , do I really need to see it type thing? Fantastic Shot!

The critical element is your willingness to learn from these folks. You obviously have a lot of innate talent.....but there's not a one of us who can't benefit from absorbing and adapting the ideas and techniques of others. I have a feeling that you'll go far with your photography.
Take care,
Tom
Thank you very much for such big compliment.

Thanks a lot for such insightful comment Werner. I guess listening to my intuition about the image and reading photography books about composition paid good this time for me. Thanks!

I did a lot of cloning actually. I'm glad you liked it!

Thanks Mike for such nice comment. I decided to keep a little of the overhead beam to complete the perspective. I'll try to totally crop it and see how it evolves. Thanks!

Guys, thanks a lot for all the comments.

#2- Cleaner version of an already great shot
#3- Powerful and simple finished product. I like the clean surroundings without the beam or other bench and the light source I picture in my head is more timeless and stylized than the industrial one that is the reality. I think this kind of drives home an idea of using what is actually available to evoke something even more interesting than the reality.
Great starting place and teamwork on this piece. I'm usually not good for much more than a "snapshot" myself but the support and creativity on this forum makes me think I should try for good photos more often and see what others think.
Thanks BFauska. Feel free to post your pics. Based on my experience here, there are guys who gives criticism because they want you to grow on your photographic skills. They even further give you compliments so you will strive to shoot some more. I, personally would like to see some images from you in the near future.
