Cant replace a photo

Noticed to my chagrin that a gallery (of only 4 photos) require a re-work as the WB is a little off. Worked on one only so far but when I try to do a replace photo, it will NOT replace the photo - just a generic error of that there was something wrong.

Whats the deal? Lastnight I tried it and I assumed maybe due to the time that I was in read only mode or whatever, but is there other issues at hand here?

I do NOT want to delete the photo(s) and re-upload as that will screw up other sites I have those photos on...

THought maybe it was the file name (_IM_8479b vs IMG_8479b - even renamed the new file to be exactly as the old file - still same error. Old file is less than 1 Meg, the new file is just over a Meg.

Well al lthe said was to make sure the file was sRGB which it is, or to send the file to them to replace for me.

Dont understand what the problem is/could be. Ive been able to do this in the past with zero problems. Even updated java and it didnt seem to help.

    W7 Ultimate, FF 3.6.13.

Not sure what might have changed but would sure like to know! ne_nau.gif

Would rather figure out the problem and get it fixed no matter who's end the issue is at as chasing the help desk ppl to make replacements whenever the need arises is going to be a PITA quite frankly.

I also seem to have problems using what I assume is the default uploader, I now always have to change it to a different uploader. so...what changed...?

Ok i guess no one wants to do anything but heres a update anyway - from what I see it starts to send but something stops the transfer after several seconds, im pretty sure it isnt anything on my end stopping the transfer.

Tried IE8, and my usual FF 3.6.13. W7 (64bit) Ulitimate. Up to date on all that I can tell (FF, windoz, java)

When I go to log out after the file upload failure, I click the link to take me back to the page I was viewing, it doesnt do so, just a blank black page with smugmug pro/Photo Hosting Login Help/search box on top of page.

If I want to upload photos the default *never* works, but have to use another. I have no idea what the problem is if its on my end or not. Give me some ideas.

Hi DJ, the reason I asked you to use the help desk is that I wanted us to be as responsive as possible and work with you there - thanks!

Thanks Andy - it seemed that not much was happening but afterward I was able to see that in the background things were in fact moving along nicely (saw that they were checking out my site trying out the problem but that was in the background).

Seems to me, HTML5 doesnt play nicely with FF from what Ive been reading but that didnt explain why I still couldnt do it with IE8.

They are working on finding out why Im having issues with the 'replace photo' feature.

In the mean time Im printing up a storm here at home with my new Canon pro 9000 mk II getting ready for a show at our local museum (my photo club is hosting a 2 month show at the museum).
