Oh Boy! My new toy arrived yesterday morning and I just had to see if it was real last night at Lawson Arena. :rofl:rofl

Western Michigan v. Lake Superior. Unfortunately for my Broncos, they came out on the short end of the game, 5-2.

I didn't have too much time to dial in everything but I did try auto ISO just for fun. :huh

C & C always welcome.

    Great Job!
I'm a father of 4 boys and Canadian so hockey is in this family. You've done a great job in all the picture in telling a story. A goalie down without a puck in the view doesn't convey much or one skating alone gives no perspective. You got all the elements for great pictures.

What lens did you use? Can you give the settings for each shot? I live in Michigan and love hockey too and would like to take some pics soon.

Thanks Brady, it has taken me a while to learn enough about the game to develop a shooting plan because the game moves so fast and can turn on a dime. :D

    Thanks Phil, my settings were:

Lens: Nikkor 70-200 f2.8G AFS-VR, all shots wide open @ 2.8, Auto WB, Auto ISO.
I also tweaked a little with NoiseNinja and USM in PSCS4.

    #1. 1/500 @ 105mm, ISO 1400
    #2. 1/500 @ 200mm, ISO 900
    #3. 1/500 @ 116mm, ISO 900
    #4. 1/500 @ 102mm, ISO 1000
    #5. 1/400 @ 116mm, ISO 800
    #6. 1/400 @ 120mm, ISO 720

    Good luck with your efforts!

I think you did really well. I *might* leave #1 out but only because you don't get enough of either player.

    I miss ref'ing.

    Thanks Ian,

I really wanted more of the goalie, but the ref was just in the frame so I had to crop him out. Sorry ex-ref. rolleyes1.gif
