Two more shots of the bucks who visited our backyard over Thanksgiving, and one of an Anhinga catching some afternoon sun. I would really appreciate any suggestions for improvement. Many thanks, Pam

All nice Pam! The composition on the anhinga really appeals to me.

All that second buck needs is some lights and you'll be ready for Christmas!

Agree with Brian_S about liking all three, and especially #1 and #3. The word "texture" comes to mind with these two shots. (Not much you could have done to simplify the background with the vegetation in #2, is there?)

Thanks, Sapphire! I don't think I could have simplified the background in that second shot, except by waiting until the buck moved somewhere else. I took a lot of shots during the week, and I think these were the best ones I got. Best, Pam

Yes, I know you didn't have options there! Glad you were able to get so many shots. We see evidence of deer visiting our yard but rarely catch them in the act....

Nice series of pics, Pam. YOu have one heck of a backyard. I have birds in my backyard and from time to time I end up with a large bird (ie. GBH, wood stork , great egrets) in my living room if a door is left open...but never a deer/buck. Cool.

Thanks, Mike. We must have opposite backyards. We don't get the birds, generally, just the deer! Oh, and one morning we had bear paw and nose prints on our glass doors, and on top of our barbecue pit. We are very careful not to leave anything that they could mistake for food within smelling range, because we sure don't want them inside! Best, Pam

Thanks so much, Dan. It's couch potato photography. The back of our house has sliding glass doors, and our back yard has no fence. So, I leave a gimbal head tripod set up in the living room, and just open the doors a little when the deer appear. We have lot of them, I think because there is a feed plot just across the gully from our backyard. Best, Pam
