Just a note the zoom effect gives repeatable results and is easy to do, the tripod helps. The pan or movement effect is harder you have to hold still for part of exposure then pan away all in .8 or .3 seconds. Strangely it gives a good focus over just holding the camera in one spot.

Your "Denver Zoo Lights" is VERY COOL!
Love the buildings without the zoom effect as well.
Christmas tree lights are my favorite type of light to do "Light Painting" with.
I was a fun night at the Denver Zoo.
