Small bridal portrait session two weeks ago... Beautiful location and beautiful bride-to-be.

Really like 1, but not 2 so much. The expression is not so good or the composition, and her face looks bright red, maybe try reducing the saturation?

Oh, yes, making 2 a little cooler would not be a bad thing. Thanks.

You did capture a nice expression on the 1st shot but the background is rather distracting as well as the vines in the foreground. (I am going to needle on this background thing a bit) I can't express to you enough how getting a clean or interesting background will instantly make your photo better..even if the bride is not doing anything interesting. And you don't need the grand canyon in the background. You just need to find a nice fence, a patch of a brick wall, some cool wallpaper, an interesting door way..anything that fills up the frame. You can suggest elegance, beauty in a shot even if you are surrounded by drab and ugly.

    Take this shot for instance

This was taken at a strip mall civil marriage hall in east san jose. This is wide angle of the place. It was in a general state of disrepair and over all did not lend it self to photos.

As you can see the place is tiny and there was dappled light everywhere ... but there was one tiny bit of trellis that actually looked okay. See the trellis behind the groom? I used that for the bridals...just that 3 feet by 6 feet of of space was all I needed. This is part of the job... to localize your vision to match your viewfinder. Now some venues will have just amazing background wide angle or zoom. That certainly makes thing easier but ALWAYS be on the look out for that nook or wall.
