Roku Displays Limited # of Photos

I love the SmugMug channel on Roku, but have noticed it displays a set number of the same photos in a slideshow for a gallery. Is there a limit on how many photos Roku can handle in any one gallery?

There is no limit. Can you send me a link to your gallery that is having a problem?

Sure - it does not display the last 18 photos of the gallery.

There is a bug in the program when the image's max size is medium. I already have a fix to this and plan on releasing this week. I will let you know when it is available.

I submitted the fix to Roku and it should go out this week. I was able to fix most of your photos but a few still do not show up because they are too small. Even if I worked around the size they probably would not look good at all on your TV since the slideshow blows the up to fill the screen. I hope this is ok.

Here are some that still will not show:

The release went out tonight. It should update within 24 hours but if you enter the channel store and then exit, it will force the channel to refresh. You should see that I updated all the logos to the new SmugMug logo.

OK - that makes sense. I will go through when I have time and replace the small images with larger ones (I think I accidentally added some thumbnail sizes) and make sure when I add, I add images in a larger size.

Thanks again for your help! I have seen some of the images you fixed on the Roku.

Yes, the slideshow automatically loops. There is also a random slideshow from all albums.

Great! one more question. If displayed on a 1080p will the image displayed be 1920X1080?
    Crossing my fingers......

The Roku only goes up to 720p for photos. The images automatically scale to the size of the display. The quality looks very good on the Roku.

shoot.... My Plan is to use it as a menu board. Resolution will be important. Do you know if the USB input on the side of the roku will display at the 1080?

As far as I understand it, video is the only thing supported at 1080p. And even with that, there is only limited content that streams at 1080p.

Well, it came, I tried it, and I will return it. It is a let down for what I wanted to do with it.

    Only displays photos at 720p.

It also when displaying photos, either crops the image and fills the screen, or the image will not fill the screen. Really annoying. Oh Well.

If your screen doesn't match the image aspect ratio exactly, there are only two options: crop to fill the screen or expand as large as possible without cropping. There are no other options.

Sorry you didn't like it. The images are not cropped but scaled to fit the screen. If you crop your image to 16x9 aspect ratio, it will fill the screen just fine. This was the best option rather than losing parts of the images so the screen is completely filled.

I tried many different formats including 1920x1080 and 1280x720
These are the dimensions and aspect ration of the tv. If fact when put on a USB card and placed in my ig tv, it displayed them perfectly. Unfortnalety the roku and the wd live will not work in this fashion. I even tried them both on different televisions, and of course tried all three of the photo settings within the device. Nothing worked.

Oh well. Thanks for all your help.
