Fun with a "Net Cam"

I had a little extra time shooting a hockey game the other night, so thought I would put in a net cam for a period or two and see what I came up with. the first period it was in was totally uneventful, as the action was at the other end of the ice the entire period.

The second period was great, a lot of action at my end, with a few good images coming out of the net cam. Eight minutes into the period though there was some great action in front of the net, with the goalie being run by the captain of the opposing team, with the end result of the goalie ending up in the net, on top of the camera housing. Took the camera out of action for the remainder of the period. Nothing like having a couple big guys in gear running into your gear.

Yes, it a remote controled camera placed inside of a Lexan housing, that is placed on the inside back of a net. It just allows for a little different perspecitve of the game.

Although it typically takes a few shots to get one keeper....

I am excited to use it at the WHL's Winter Outdoor Classic this January.

Really like the shots. Netcams are always great. It is a hard balancing act between too much "fish-eye" wideangle look and missing the image. You did a real nice balance.
