I figured I should break my lurker status. Last week my wife and I made a quick trip to Tampa. We stumbled upon the Lettuce Lake Park and went for a quick walk. There was quite a variety of birds and we saw a couple of Pileated Woodpeckers a bit out of reach of my 70-200. A few minutes later she called out to me, "Richard, there's one right up here". I'm used to these birds being very skitish. This one let me move around in plain sight and take this shot.

That is a marvelous bird. Very recluse and tough to get shots of.
    Nice shooting.

Sat is bit high in the blue. I would pull that down. It is also casting a blue shadow on the birds feathers in the back.
    And you should be good
    Best Regards

Richard, keep taking your wife with you--she has a great eye. My husband is that way too, and I take him with me all the time. And you get credit too, for a great shot! Thanks for posting. Best, Pamclap.gif

Nice capture Richard and glad you came out of the darkness to share. Welcome. I agree with Gale. I usaully don't like to comment on color because of all the variables taking place (one's vision, monitor type & calibration etc.) but even being colorblind to an extent...this color looks off. Some tweaking would help. Blues look funky and incorrect and the red is overpowering on this end.

I agree that this is a nice capture in difficult light, but you did well with this.
