Canon XSi Flash ?

I'm new but realize I'd like to get another flash for my XSi didn't realize there were so many can anyone point me it the right direction is there someithing I should look for or stay away from.

    You mention "another flash"? It would be helpful to know what you have now, whether it is working for you and what you expect in a second flash.

    What is your primary application for wanting 2 flashes?

    I only have the built in flash with the system. Flash photos I take look harsh I thought maybe a better flash with a diffuser would help taking better flash photos.

    the Sigma 530 is the flash I've been mentioning to friends who have that camera (or similar) and want to get into a flash other than their on-board pop up flash. Seems to be a popular request this christmas :)

    Absolutely true. An external flash and appropriate modifier can make all the difference. I've got a number of examples in these recent posts:

    Thanks for the suggestion I’ll have a look lighting is certainly the key I need to learn as much as I can.
