Shooting Girls Varsity Basketball tomorrow night. I like to shot under the basket though the team this year is not strong under the basket and my 70X200 lens is in the shop wont focus close. Any thoughts on where to sit? I have a 50mm and an 85mm I can use, just need to find something new and exciting to use.... CC's Welcome of course

I have had good results with my 50mm sitting at the corner of the side line just far enough from the end line so the Ref doesn't block your shots. The difficulty I ran into under the basket was the charging players and the movement of the Ref.

    Have fun. :D

    Thanks John,
I noticed in your hockey photos you took at 1/500 th it seems when I shot that slow I see much more motion blur. Could it be my blur from shake? I don't get it. I tried shooting a soccer game at 1/500th and was not happy with the pictures yet you are stopping a puck at that speed? I'm always trying to do a better job and there are so many things to understand.
I was shooting in raw thinking I could come up with a better picture and it seems jpg for the last boys games are much clearer. I don't get that? I judge by the glossiness of the eyes. In raw there are only a few in jpg they are typical.
