I used an action by MCP, I used the sharpening layer, brightened the whites, lightened the iris, that is it.
Ah, yes. I have that action, too! For me, they stood out as being worked on and much sharper than the rest of her face. But this is often a look that people like. It's a lovely shot!

I have to ask....what exactly is an "action by MCP"??? If this is obvious to the crowd, my apologies. I just have very limited pp tools/skills (Elements 6) and this is definitely something new to me!
Thanks!

MCP stands for Multiple Choices Photography (I had to look that up 'cause I couldn't remember!). Jodi Friedman creates all sorts of tools, including actions, for photogs. Actions are used in Photoshop to change the look of your photo with a couple clicks.

Elaine, Andrew - Thank you both. I will be doing some research! Much appreciated.
There's huge appeal in this image, Trudy! For me, I wonder if I like the processing applied quite so literally to such a young subject, but I understand how it excites the eye, and to cut it back would seem to make the image bland. The colours and tones are indeed very beautiful, and it's the surfaces that are risking being a little "dollish". I love to see the natural textures. I have a feeling that the processing here could help produce an exceptional b&w. Not what you really want, I know, and not seeing those wonderful colours and tones would indeed be a loss!
Beautiful pose and color. The frame effect compliments it nicely.

Some " actions" can only be used on the newer photoshop versions. Not sure where E6 fits in.
Think of an action as a formula you like to use on a lot of your images, say lighten the middle- I use that type a lot, and there are 20 steps you have to do to make it happen, an action has that all made to work like speed dial. You can make your own actions in phototshop, and if you are really good you can sell them online like the gal Jodi. And you might find free actions online, just google free actions elements 6.

Her eyes are a wee tiny bit over done for my taste but that's just me and I know this is what people love....
