LR 3 folder & import issue

I'm having an issue in Lightroom 3.2 that I can't seem to resolve on my own. I'll try to put this as best as I can.

In FOLDER view in Library module I can see certain folders on a drive, but it shows 0 files in the folders. In Windows explorer the folders have files (all raw). When I click IMPORT in LR I can see the folders and the images come up in grid, but with the lights down and the import button is gray and unclickable. I have no idea what the disconnect is here and how to get the files to import into my catalog. I'm at a loss. Any help would be appreciated and I can post screen shots if needed and explain more. It's so frustrating.

have you tried to synchronize ? [ by right-clicking on the folder ]

when you are in the import window try unchecking the box that say's do not import duplicates.

good suggestion basflt. just tried it. the individual shots flickered for a moment in grid in the import panel and then all went blank and disappeared. no photos shown.

I had the same problem Monday night when I was rearranging some folders

between both of your suggestions, it worked. I love LR, but some things just elude me.

can happen

tip
if the catalog comes corrupt , or you just dont know anymore ;
simply delete the entire Lightroom folder from
C:/Users/username/Pictures/

next time you start lightroom , it will be blank
you import your photo's again and all is fine
offcourse any unsaved changes made to photo's are gone too

edit
ofcourse not again import ALL photo's , only un-processed and the ones you want
this way it is clean & tidy again

thanks much. the comfort I take in LR is that nothing it does will effect the photos...if they're on the HD, they're on the HD, it's just a matter of getting them into the catalog. and yeah, the losing data thing is a pain, but par for the course.
