This hawk landed on my back fence just as I was walking by my patio door. Only the second one I've seen perched in the eight years I've been here.

Without looking it up I'm going to guess it's a Cooper's. Just slightly smaller than a Red-tailed.

Lucky find Ric, and nice pose and love the eyes in this, may I suggest something here... Add more contrast to the shot, it's a bit light in the wing feathers and I think it will bring more details out. Still a great shot.

Well...you are the third person to tell me the image needs more contrast...I've been trying to avoid overdoing things and trying for a more natural look.
