I'll agree you got the eyes and depth of field separates things nicely. I think this might be a better if the rider filled more of the frame ne_nau.gif

That's always a tough call. But it's easier to crop.

It seems there is a lot of dust between you and the rider or maybe a little lens flare ne_nau.gif
Just dosn't seem to pop the way it should IMO

I like the lighting. Im not a big fan of flat light from the front so this lighting setup is good IMO. Just needs more punch.

For me, the square crop is'nt working. I too would crop in tighter and make it a verticle.

In general, art directors always want you to shoot loose, but photographers like to shoot tight. Its good practice to shoot tight but is'nt always needed. I change it up depending on what makes the best shot. If it's an ugly background, bad light, weak action ect, shoot a long lens and crop as tight as possiable. If is a nice background and nice light, then go for a more epic shot with the bike smaller in the frame.

Also, for me, seeing the eyes here does not work for me. Yes, in general you want to see them, but what makes it good is seeing the focus and intensity of the eyes. Here the rider just seems distracted and is just looking over at the photographer. For me it takes away from the over all shot.

What do you think about something like this?

I just punched up the contrast a bit, cropped tighter and darkened the eyes just to show the effect.

This was something that was distracting me as well. I think it's because the rider is not wearing goggles.

Now that is cool maybe a bit too much contrast.but i think that depends on the individual as im still getting used to colours seeing colours in a different light, dont know if that makes sense.
But thanks for the one up. ill post one with more intensity.
