>>> Best of 2010!!!!
I've decided to hold of with the next challenge round till the beginning of the next year because of the holiday period. People are going to be too busy with other things to be shooting most likely, I'm going to be working during the holiday period and most of all it is just going to be cold! (well, here anyway).
So, in the mean time, let's see your best of 2010!!

That snow shot is my wife and one of my twins seeing his first snow.
Here is another from the muddy MX shoot I did a few days ago
Happy Holidays, everyone!
At the new year my wife and I were traveling from China to Manila, Philippines, where the places we went and the people we met gave us a chance to shoot things you simply don't find back home. This young boy had a staff of bamboo for a crutch, living in a hodge-podge squatter village we visited to distribute a meager supply of medicines and food. Makes me feel mighty small, even with my own income pretty close to "poverty" level here in America.
Returning home and getting back into the swing of things after a five month absence, I did a lot more off-camera flash work and gradually saw better and better results coming in.
Summer put me back on the fireline, where scenery is incredible, but the people are interesting too.
And then I moved into a studio environment a whole lot more than I have in the past. This has definitely been an improvement for me, in studying light and poses and things of that nature that I have to know in order to get good photos of people on purpose.
Working more with strobes has helped me a lot, although I definitely still feel like a rookie!
Added a couple family shoots to the repertoire and I have a lot of results that I'm thrilled with!
High key is something I am very glad to be finally able to do properly!
And of course now winter is back, but this time we're stuck here in Alaska to enjoy it for all it's worth! I'm certainly looking forward to next year with eager anticipation!

Despite the high cost of living, it remains popular.
Why do people post their equipment in their sig. Isn't it kind of like bragging? That having been said...

Hi fellow Texan (read--not so far away from Abilene)! I particularly like your use of light in #9! My husband is a Red Raider and we're back in Lubbock often... so many better shooting avenues than po-dunk Abilene!

Good to see more West Texas Photogs on here. Yea, I imagine Abilene is a pretty hard place to get a variety of styles to shoot.
