This is my first time ever doing indoor sports. I'm not really even set up to do it, but my neighbor begged me to do it so I gave it a shot. Would love to get any feedback that I can. All images were taken with a D300 and 18-200 lens.

Thanks for looking. Comments and critiques much appreciated.

Crank the ISO to 3200 and get your shutter speed up to 1/320th. Looks pretty good.

Hockey's really hard to do, esp. with the 18-200. Looks like you did well for your 1st time. This is where 2.8 glass comes in handy. Could you have used a faster shutter speed and gotten away with slightly darker photos, or did you want white (not light gray) ice?

thanks, that white ice basically came from the processing. all the photos were about 2/3 to a stop under and brought up. i may have brought them up a bit much, but nothing here is over 244. the 2.8 glass is becoming more of a reality each day. hopefully soon!!

    thanks again, all!!

Definitely. I don't know how anyone can shoot sports without 2.8 glass. It's just painful unless you are outside or in the brightest arenas around, which never seems to happen!

The ideal setup is the 70-200 f2.8 and the 300mm f2.8. If I had to chose just one I would get the 70-200mm f2.8.
