Add the Motorola i1 to the list of phones that it won't work on.

We have installed it on a Droid X and it works great.

The i1 unfortunately runs Android 1.5. Motorola has stated that besides PRL updates and minor fixes there will never be an update to the i1.
Many of the routines that the SmugMug app use are not available in 1.6 and it would simply need to be a complete rewrite.

However, are you in need of the ruggedness of the i1 or are you only using it for the PTT feature, because if you are using it only for the PTT feature then you need to look up Tikl in the market. It allows you to make a PTT call to any one else who has Tikl installed. We use it daily around my house and we all run Evo's.

However if you need the toughness then perhaps you can look into getting an Evo (99 dollars with a 2 year contract or re-up through Sprint) and getting one of the Ballistic cases for it. http://www.goballisticcase.com/products/htc-evo-ballistic-hc-series-case
