    Charles, it was pure luck. I am a biologist and work with Red Cockaded Woodpeckers and one morning while roosting birds this bird showed up. Sometimes pickup trucks are the best blinds., but not the cheapest.

    Very nice capture jim. Always nice when you are "johnny on the spot" with your camera. I would have liked to see a tad more room on the left side and bottom. Head is a bit crowded for my taste and the tail is clipped. Still a nice image.

    Very nice capture Jim. One bird that I can nver seem to get in close enough to. But they are sure neat looking, even at a distance.
